New sustainable and printable label films 40% thinner than PE alternative

Sep 13, 2023

BOPP films producer, Innovia Films is launching two new label facestock filmsRayoface CPE45 (clear) and WPE45 (white), which are printable and significantly thinner than alternative filmic label materials, like polyethylene (PE).

CPE and WPE are approximately 40% thinner than the polyethylene films used, which not only implies a thinner label, but also a lower usage of scarce fossil resources.

CPE also has outstanding clarity and very low haze compared to a polyethylene label, making it suitable to use on clear-on-clear applications on PET bottles.

CPE offers outstanding clarity to clear-on-clear application on PET bottles.

Another advantage of using CPE or WPE is they maintain high machine direction stiffness of bubble produced films, meaning that there is no reduction in label dispensing speeds.

“It is vital with any new products that we launch, that they align with the markets move to packaging materials that will meet design for recycling guidelines, and CPE and WPE do just that,” said Lucija Kralj, Business Unit Director Labels.
