Cabot launches ISCC PLUS certified circular black masterbatches
Cabot Corporation launches its new REPLASBLAK line of circular black masterbatches, which is the company’s first-ever ISCC PLUS certified black masterbatch products. Powered by the EVOLVE Sustainable Solutions, the three new masterbatches meet industrial requirements of performance, quality and consistency for certified solutions.

Recently launched, Cabot’s EVOLVE Sustainable Solutions technology platform is designed to deliver sustainable reinforcing carbons and other performance materials across three sustainability categories – recovered, renewable and reduced.
All the three new products leverage an ISCC PLUS certified mass balance approach, which is a chain of custody approach to trace the flow of materials through a complex value chain, including recycled feedstock at plants.
Each grade occupies their own features and application respectively.
REPLASBLAK rePE5475 100% circular black masterbatch
With 100% ISCC PLUS mass balance certified material from reclaimed carbons from end-of-life tires pyrolysis and mechanically recycled polyethylene, this masterbatch enables a 60% greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction.
It delivers medium tint strength that fits applications that require higher circular content, including compounding, recycling, injection molding and sheet extrusion applications relevant to the automotive, agriculture, packaging and construction segments.
REPLASBLAK rePE5265 70% circular black masterbatch
This grade leverages 70% ISCC PLUS mass balance certified material made from mechanically recycled polyethylene, reducing GHG emissions by nearly 50%.
It delivers high gloss and jet pigmentation in thermoplastics, making it suitable for compounding, recycling, injection molding and sheet extrusion applications relevant to the automotive segment.
REPLASBLAK rePE5250 60% circular black masterbatch
Leveraging 60% ISCC PLUS mass balance certified material made from mechanically recycled polyethylene, the black masterbatch reduces GHG emissions by nearly 50%.
It delivers high tint strength making it suitable for compounding, recycling, injection molding and sheet extrusion applications relevant to the automotive segment.
The new black masterbatch products will be manufactured at the plants in Pepinster and Loncin, Belgium, which recently achieved ISCC PLUS certification.
