INEOS Styrolution and Sinopec inaugurate new ABS facility in Ningbo, China
INEOS Styrolution and its joint venture partner SINOPEC announced the inauguration of a new world-scale acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) located in Ningbo, China.

The official opening ceremony was attended by management team from INEOS Styrolution and SINOPEC, officials from the Chinese government and the British Embassy, and other institutional representatives.
Started construction in the end of 2020, the new facility spans across 26.7 hectares and is with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons. It utilizes INEOS Styrolution’s world calss Terluran ABS technology.
The ABS facility will produce high-end ABS materials that advance the design and functionality of many applications across a wide variety of industry sectors, including automotive, electronics, household, healthcare and toys/sports/leisure, for the rapid growing domestic market in China.
Rob Buntinx, President APAC at INEOS Styrolution, explained that the facility was strategically located closely to the customers, which enable the company to respond to local demand more quickly and efficiently, while significantly reducing delivery times.
“The completion of our new ABS facility in Ningbo using our world class Terluran ABS technology is an important milestone, as we embark on a new stage in this exciting journey with SINOPEC to further strengthen our position in the Chinese ABS market,” added Steve Harrington, CEO of INEOS Styrolution.
