Tosaf extends product portfolio in polycarbonate additives
Tosaf strengthens its commitment around additives for polycarbonate (PC), which are mainly used for the extrusion of transparent sheets, profiles and films, with new developments in products featuring UV stabilization, matt surfaces, near-IR blockers, anti-block additives and others.

Transparent roof glazing is one of the preferred applications of PC sheets.
Extended portfolio in PC additives
Tosaf’s new developments include light diffuser masterbatches for PC and PMMA. With high loading level, low dosing quantities are sufficient, enabling particularly economical solutions. Besides that, they offer a balance between high hiding power and high light transmission.
Other innovations include heat blockers for the near IR range (NIR blockers) and additives for creating matt surfaces with either a fine or rough structure. The additives are intended to be applied to the surface of PC sheets by coextrusion, each in combination with a UV absorber.
As a 50-100 µm thick toplayer, they work more efficiently there than when added directly to the sheet bulk.
Beyond, Tosaf also offers two types of anti-block that are tailored to prevent corrugated sheets from sticking together, providing high efficiency even in small doses.
In addition, the company’s portfolio of compounds and masterbatches for PC also includes flame retardants, glass fibers and a wide range of color masterbatches.
Secured supply worldwide
To meet the strictest quality requirements, Tosaf produces its entire portfolio of PC compounds for global demand exclusively in its Alon-Tavor additives factory. All new and further developments are also carried out in the company’s development center at the same location.
Only the production of color masterbatches for PC takes place in a dedicated color compounding site, which is also located in Israel.
